Looks I Love No. 17 - Fall Favorites

Fall seems to be all around everyone's favorite season. And it's a hard one not to like. 'Tis the season where relaxing is on the regular. You go from one tasty holiday tradition to the next from Halloween candy to pecan pie and all the while you're bundled up in an oversized shawl preferably with a glass of red wine and a fire. Picturesque, am I right? Well maybe not in Atlanta yet where it's still 80 degrees and I'm over-wearing my distressed jeans because...shorts just don't seem logical for October.

Blame global warming or not, this has happened every year that I can remember growing up in Atlanta. Preparation for Halloween happened when the weather seemed outrageously warm for the season only to end up going out the door on a cold Halloween night with an off-putting sweat-shirt and pants under your now un-realistic Ariel costume.

So in Atlanta when it comes to Fall weather there is one thing we do best. Layer.

Some of my favorite Fall pieces this year are all about going from a light and airy blouse to a wool shaw to fit the season's ever-changing temperature. When it comes to picking the staples for Fall, less is more in my book. I end up splurging on a few truly classic pieces for my wardrobe. Cooper & Ella is a favorite brand of mine for a piece that can be office or going-out appropriate. I am also loving nearly everything Club Monaco is bringing to the table this season, including (and probably most shocking to me) culottes. It may be the early 2000s imagery of culottes lingering in my head, but this has been a trend I've avoided to date. These culottes look that good, Club Monaco may change my mind...

A few other items sticking out to me this season are loafers. I love the look with a chunky sweater or tailored blouse for a casual office environment. You may also notice glasses showing up on my favorites list. I haven't bought new glasses in about six years, but thought it was time for an update and I love the premise behind Warby Parker (like TOMS but for glasses). Last but not least if you're decorating for the season, I love the simplicity of this 'gather' garland and some seasonal pieces to keep around the kitchen like this plaid oven mitt and Thanksgiving hand-towel. (up to 35% off on Fall home decor items at Target too!)

Happy Fall Y'all!
