Nancy Meyers's Set Design In The Intern

We spent the past weekend skiing in Park City and flew back late last night leaving me EXHAUSTED today. On the flight home, I watched the movie The Intern and was blown away by Nancy Meyers's set design. In the movie, Robert Di Nero plays a 70 year old retiree who comes back to work as an intern at a start-up fashion ecomm business in Brooklyn. The young entrepreneur played by Anne Hathaway, owns the ecomm company in a trendy revamped warehouse building in Brooklyn. It's bright, contemporary and just all around lovely.

Anne Hathaway's character, Jules Ostin, lives in an adorable Brooklyn brownstone with real style along the lines of Jenna Lyons and NYC restaurateur Ali Cayne's gorgeous homes. I literally paused the movie and took a picture of the screen while watching. The living room in the movie mixes black, white and gold in a gallery wall with a moroccan rug and yellow roll arm sofa.

The rest of the set design in her Brooklyn apartment is equally as stunning with a mix of different styles that stick to a classic black, white and gold color combo to thread them together. In the dining room a constellation light fixture looks amazing against the crown molding and arched doorway.

The kitchen mixes vintage and industrial pieces for an eclectic and modern look. I love the industrial lighting and chairs next to the townhome's fireplace.
