These past few week’s we have been waiting anxiously for my new niece to arrive. I’ve been helping my sister with decorations for my nephew’s “big boy” room. The selling factors? A teepee and bed with cubbies underneath for his cars. Gotta love boys. We’ve been thinking about how to transition the nursery from a baby boy’s room to a baby girl’s with minimal effort. A new pink and white dream catcher and letters with her name did the trick. While I was hunting for pieces, this dresser with a pink border stuck out to me. It’s girly but feels like it could stand the test of time from a baby’s room to a kid’s room and potentially further, so I gave it a try.
One dresser from a baby’s room to a girl’s room to a guest room.
In the nursery I like the dresser mixed with a girly rug and these cute little animal photographs. A navy blue glider is classic and can be used in any babies room paired with a gold pouf for some flair. This crib actually has a bar that comes all the way up, but it’s showed with the bar down.
Moving to the girls room the update can be as simple as a “big girl bed” and a new rug to freshen up the space. The gold pouf can stay paired with a chair and I like these wood dipped stools for a place to set things down. I like these pieces because they feel girly and fresh but not too young.
Aging the room up to create a pretty and polished guest room, there are a few elements you can mix in with the existing dresser, bed and accents to freshen up the space. Wallpaper the walls or frame some of this gorgeous floral wallpaper, add in a this rich blue trellis rug and a patterned daybed to complete the look.
