This year, I have been volunteered to decorate the table for Thanksgiving at our family’s annual get together. With our house in disarray awaiting our renovations I haven’t put too much thought into holiday decorating aside from these gorgeous Fall mantels and with Thanksgiving just a few days away, it’s time for a game plan.
I am loving right now the use of natural elements and moody tones in place settings. From agate to pears, the secret touch seems to be an unlikely item embellished with gorgeous and loose calligraphy script adding a personalized touch to the table. At the top of my list is agate in moody and bold colors, so striking and unusual. While they sell agate coasters at West Elm that could easily be scribbled on with a paint pin you can wash off, it may be hard and $$$ to get these in time. A trick I’ve used for our table last year was turning coasters into place-settings – affordable and come in sets! Scroll down for some ideas and where to buy the materials.
