Our Home Renovation - Before & After
Here it is! Our home, post renovation and before move-in - ish. I say -ish- because our home was a total mess the majority of the renovation, so these shots have been compiled across the last few weeks. All that is to say the perfectionist in me had to caveat, they aren’t perfect. :)
If you’ve been following along, THANK YOU! It has been a lot of fun to share the past two years of this process with you all. The renovation went from an 8-9 month quote to 2 years and a total overhaul of our 1920’s two story home. We took out walls, added a new kitchen, a bathroom, enclosed a screen porch and built a master suite (laundry, closet and all). It was a disaster and amazing at the same time.
After an architect drew the essential building plans, I opted to make all of the design decisions while working my full time job in marketing, because (a) I convinced myself this would be frugal and (b) evidently I’m insane. In all seriousness though, it was a whole lot of fun.
So here it is, if you make it to the bottom I have some side by side before and afters of the house because those are my favorite.
With new additions and wall removals, it can be hard to get a feel for the layout, even some of our friends who saw it before, during and after lost the plot a bit - in this post you can see the floorplans for the 1st and 2nd floor. Or you can catch up on all of the past renovation posts here. If you don’t see something you’re curious about shoot me a note. There are some topics that came up during the renovation I’m planning, but would love to know what you’re interested in.
