The New Traditional: Designer, Mark D. Sikes

One of the things I am loving about interior designers across the country is this new more modern twist they are giving to traditional style. What is now being called—*new* traditional. It may still be up for debate what style falls into this category, but for me it's a mixture of iconic traditional pieces like blue and white jars, antique wooden furniture, classic upholstery lines like an english roll arm chair and sofa and jute / wicker.

Mark D. Sikes, an interior designer in L.A., is my favorite designer who is nailing this style. With southern, midwestern and now west coast roots, his style is updated yet traditional. It's the perfect mix of classic pieces with the punch it needs to feel fresh and personal.
